This chawan has a minor kiln-related imperfection on the base. During firing, a small amount of glaze dripped onto the kiln shelf, resulting in a slightly uneven texture on the bottom. The piece has been carefully cleaned and stabilized; it sits securely, is fully functional, and does not leak. The interior and rim are smooth and comfortable for use. This variation is purely cosmetic and a natural result of the firing.

This katakuchi is shaped by hand using the throwing technique, with a softly asymmetrical form that gently reflects its handmade origin. The hand-painted glaze introduces quiet variations in tone and texture, echoing the rhythm of its making.

Marks of the process remain—subtle traces that honor the presence of the maker. A quiet, contemplative piece, equally suited for pouring or simply holding presence on a table.
